Mohammad Irfan 3 wickets in National ODI cup 2016

Mohammad Irfan is proving his form and fitness once again in the ongoing ODI cup. It seems that the competition will be tough for the selectors for deciding the side that will take on Australia in their home series. Mohammad Irfan will make a comeback to the international cricket if he is selected.

Irfan took three wickets in the first game of the National ODI cup 2016. Playing for his side he bowled really well. He was getting the bounce required to take wickets. He bowled in the right channel and with a very attacking line and length.Irfan picked up four wickets in the match. His lethal bowling gave his side a pretty easy at the end. This is really classy bowling performance from Irfan. He did everything right here. He bowled with pace and aggression and sure he keeps his focusses on the game.

The first wicket of the day came for Irfan behind the stumps. This was a short ball outside the off stump. The batsman wanted to cut the ball on the off side. Now there was some serious pace behind this ball and the angle was really hard to play a cut shot. The ball hit the edge of the bat and went flying down to the throat of the wicket keeper. Irfan got a very neat start to the proceedings. Then came his second wicket. This was another short ball and another poor short from the left handed batsman.

He went for a pull knowing the fact that Irfan gets extra bounce because of his height. With this he was a very high pace as well. Playing a pull shot against him is always a very risky shot. There is a high number of chance that you might edge the ball. The same thing happened to this batter. He went for a pull shot and edged it straight to mid-on. It was a simple catch for the fielder and at this level you hardly see something dropping out of the fielder’s hands. After this Irfan picked up his third wicket and that was another good short ball.

Irfan keeps his length short. This is his trademark style of bowling. He hits the deck hard and generates a lot of bounce. Now as he is 7 plus feet tall so there is a lot of extra bounce there for him as well. So for him bowling short is way too easy compared to other bowlers. This is the reason he gets so many wickets in domestic and international level.
