Mohammad Amir 48 runs against Australia, 1st test 2016

Mohammad Amir is certainly trying his best to do anything to make sure he gives his team mates and countrymen something to cheer. He is bowling well but unfortunately not getting that many wickets. Now he has done fantastically well with the bat.

The innings Amir has played here at the Gabba shows that anybody can bat here. All it takes is concentration. Amir played his part for sure. His runs has given Pakistan a real boost. Mohammad Amir has now become a good all-rounder for Pakistan.Mohammad Amir now bats at number 7 for the Pakistan side in the test format. Previously this place was with Wahab Riaz. But a series of failures from Wahab with the bat give Amir the opportunity to bat and he has done well so far.

Amir hit five boundaries in his 48 runs innings. He batted with confidence and full commitment. If there was something from the top order then surely Pakistan had all the chances to win this game. The score was big to chase but at the same time the wicket has become good for batting as well. Amir did had his moments. In the initial phase Amir had all the problems facing the pace of Starc. The left arm pacer from Australia hit some really good balls against Amir. On a few occasions Starc almost had Amir producing an outside edge.

Amir got most of his boundaries on the off side. Some of them were really good and the others were outside edges against the pace bowling of Starc. The two players did get a heated moment as well. Starc hit a full toss to the pads of Amir and then it just started. Pakistan has played well here. There is no doubt about it. They had a few unlucky dismissals with Azhar getting caught on the leg side and Sarfraz getting a belter of a ball from Starc.

These two were batting well but then got out. After this the Younis Khan out was a shocker for the Pakistani fans. Pakistan has ended day’s play at 382 for the loss of eight wickets. This is really good batting from a team that only made 142 in the first innings. It is the first innings deficit that has put Pakistan in problems. Had they not given Australia much runs in the first innings this game could have been different in terms of current results. At the moment Pakistan needs 108 more runs to win this one with two wicket in hand.
