Mohammad Asif mocked by Indian fans

Mohammad Asif was part of the maiden Indian Premier League (IPL). Pakistani players only played he first edition as after that they could not make it to the league because of the political issues between Pakistan and India.

Asif played well in the event. He bowled well and took some good number of wickets. In one of the games he was mocked by the Indian fans as Asif was fielding near the boundary and the fans asked him to bring Shoaib Akhtar in the bowling.

The reason the Indian fans were mocking Asif was the last game which Asif’s side Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Shoaib Akhtar ripped through the Delhi batting line and took 4 wickets in his spell.

Daredevils could not reach the score which Kolkata Knight Riders made in their innings. Shoaib Akhtar was playing his first game of the event and he absolutely rocked the Eden Garden stadium with some powerful performance. Asif had nothing left but to just raise his hands to the fans. He knew that this will happen to him after what Shoaib did to his side. Asif himself did bowl well in the game and his spell was not only economical but also there were wickets for him as well.

Mohammad Asif had a remarkable career as a fast bowler for the Pakistan side. But he exploded it altogether with his issues. He was one of the spoiled brats in the side. He was totally unaware of the word discipline. He was most of the times found guilty in issues within the team. In the 2007 world T20 he and Shoaib had a verbal fight which led to Shoaib hitting him with a bat. That caused a lot of fuss in the team. Shoaib was returned back to Pakistan after this incident and was penalize by the cricket board as well.

Asif then got involved in the spot fixing scandal. He was out of cricket for 5 years. Now he is back and is bowling well but it seems that Inzamam and company are not ready to take him in at the moment. They want him to perform with the old ball as well. Also the fitness level of Asif has also been pointed out by Inzamam in a recent interview. So there are a lot of things which Asif has to adapt in order to make his way into the Pakistan national side.
