Southee 55 makes a record, India VS New Zealand 2016, 1st ODI

The first ODI between India and New Zealand in under way. The visitors had a terrible start. The way New Zealand lost their first 6 wickets was horrible. At that point, even 100 runs were looking really difficult for the New Zealand side.

There were only two major innings from the New Zealand side. First was Latham who hit a well crafted 79. The second one was a brilliant 55 runs innings from the pace bowler Tim Southee. The right-hander helped Kiwi get some reputed score line.Southee batted with extreme confidence. He made sure that he holds the crease as long as possible. Not only had this he taken the attack back at the New Zealand side. Southee hit some lusty boundaries in his innings.

He hit three sixes in his innings. The first one was on the leg side. He middle this one perfectly and the ball went a long way over the deep backward square leg fence. The second hit was over long this. This time again it was a perfect shot.

Southee gathered all the force from his body and punched the ball over the head of every standing within the playing field. The third maximum from him was over long off. Southee and Latham gave New Zealand some reconciliation in the match.New Zealand in now all out on 190. On this track, this is not a pretty decent score. Pandya took three wickets today in his first ODI. He bowled superbly. Misbah the little leggy also picked up three wickets for India. New Zealand only chance to win this one is taking wickets at regular interval. Even one decent partnership will put them out of the contest.
